What's Euregme ?

The seventh edition of the European Regional Meeting will be held in Malta. Located at the heart of the Mediterranean Sea, Malta boasts the fusion of myth and fact, history and modernity, tradition and change, a fusion that transforms it into a colourful, psychedelic speck of an isle. Organised between the 6th and the 10th of April 2010 , Euregme VII promises lively discussions, intreactive workshops and, of course, the unforgettable evening parties.

Who? What? Why?

The International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations (IFMSA) organizes an Annual Meeting for each of its five geographical regions. The European Regional Meeting (EuRegMe) is scheduled and structured so as to serve as a follow up to the March Meeting of the IFMSA General Assembly, allowing better focus on issues specifically relevant to Europe.

EuRegMe provides an opportunity for targeted discussion among individuals from over twenty-five different countries, each of whom contribute their unique expertise and experiences. This synergistic exchange of ideas aims to better equip all participants to guide their local Medical Students’ Associations to have a better impact when tackling burning issues pertinent to the local scene. Each participant also garners increased awareness of health issues of significance in Europe, through the numerous training sessions held.

The social programme serves to further improve networking amongst the different participants, while encouraging cultural exchange and offering a glance at the various attractions of the host country.

Where?

Each year, the EuRegMe is hosted in a different country; which destination is chosen and confirmed from amongst the candidate nations, in a voting process held at the August Meeting of the IFMSA General Assembly during the previous year.

Participants

The EuRegMe brings together over two hundred Medical Students, between the ages of 18 and 30, from all over Europe.
